MUSIC - Simon Farress-Gregg
Simon Farress-Gregg also known as producer SiGGy of siggymusic.com, an experienced musician, producer, tutor and lecturer who led a large music department in an FE college in Devon.
He began to play, produce and writing in his mid-teens; starting out on drums, and soon to become accomplished on guitar, bass, and keys too. He was quickly consumed by the beast they call music technology; hungry for production knowledge/ experience and relentless in his quest to find out how the big guns did it. Playing in many local bands/projects he was soon cutting his teeth recording and producing whilst acquiring invaluable skills to apply to his own production company ‘Muffinfunk Productions’; a small commercial business specialising in band/ corporate videos and one-off sound/ recording projects. It was from here that he started working with groups of teenagers. This led to teaching at a local college where he completed his teaching qualifications and took over as Programme Coordinator for Music. He was there for 12 years. During this time SiGGy was still playing and producing audio and video projects on a weekly basis and never turned down an interesting creative proposition. He is currently freelancing his music services and also teaching video and YouTube production techniques to groups of children on the autistic spectrum.
His involvement with the MVCA starts on the day that Suzie Stanford sent an email enquiring about whether she could join a BTEC course to help learn the skills to help her complete her first charity album. Little did he know how things would progress……! Well, what a journey it has been, and with a huge amount of passion, hard work and belief, Suzie has developed the MVCA to where it is now.
Simon is delighted to offer his experience and support to the MVCA and will be helping with every aspect of the music pathway. He has also created this website and is willing to help and advise with any project.
