MILITARY VETERANS CREATIVE ARTS C.I.C (12229585) MVCA was registered with Companies House on the 26th of September 2019.
Our mission is to provide help and support or our Armed Forces Veterans, who are suffering from PTSD and other service-related conditions. Our goal is to help our Veterans and their families, through the power of music, media, and artistic expression.
We will provide help support and mentoring to vulnerable and socially isolated Veterans. By joining one of our mentor programmes, their lives will immediately benefit from finding some tranquillity in their own creative dreams and the encouragement to become full fledged artists within their chosen media. By offering, mentoring, group workshops, retreats and specialised courses where possible, it is our hope that there will be something for everyone!
The idea behind the MVCA is simple: we will find an appropriate professional mentor to provide lessons, guidance, and support over a minimum period of six weeks, where you will work on creating a finished piece, or pieces. This could, for example, be a song that starts from a set of lyrics and becomes a produced single. It could also be a set of poems or a piece of art or craft.
All we ask in return is to retain the copyright on any material that we work on, build, and produce with you, or any physical artefacts that you might have created with your mentor.
The reason for this is twofold. Firstly, we’d like to feature some of the work in MVCA albums and releases. Secondly, we’d also like to use any material to promote the growth of the MVCA and sell any creative pieces in our online shop.
In the event funds are raised on any of these tracks, artefacts or creative works, the MVCA will reinvest any profits into future mentorships and Veteran’s retreats. We ask all of our veterans and mentors to sign a simple MVCA agreement form to allow us to do this.
The MVCA are also proud to support other charities and good causes. You can find details here on our “Friends of MVCA” page.
Whilst the MVCA is still in its infancy, we’ve already been busy; previous projects include the ‘Words by Veterans’ and ‘Troubled Minds’ albums.
The ‘Words by Veterans’ double album featured two CD’s with a staggering total of 33 songs provided by many of our kind veterans. This album was released to raise funds for ‘UK Homes 4 Heroes’.
‘Troubled Minds’ is an album of 14 songs, which also included a fantastic A4 poster created by Lozzie Hughes. This project was created to raise money for ‘PTSD Resolution’.
At the start of the year we also released our first single ‘Stay Strong’, recorded over a momentous weekend in Salford. Be sure to purchase a download and help us grow.
All our work can be found for sale in our online shop.
Please help us spread the word of what we do here at the MVCA and if you know of any veterans and their families who could benefit from our services, and ask them fill out our simple contact form.
